Athleta worked with the Landlord to create a built-to-suit space that fit the base specification for their needs. After providing a storefront a vanilla shell space, Connor Construction’s team was selected to complete the fit out. Since this was new construction, we had time to order all long lead items, meticulously craft our schedule, and get external stakeholders on the same page. This store with 2,600 S.F. of salesfloor was completed quickly and turned over the Athleta team ready for opening.

The sleek, urban design is a stunning display of the brand’s trendy, fitness-oriented styles for women and young girls. With a flexible but controlled layout, shoppers and community members can gather to participate in meditation classes, community events, and styling sessions.

As sustainability and collaboration are becoming everpresent in the retail world, national leader in Athleisure has moved into a prime location on King Street. Situated in the D.C. Metropolitan area this store is poised to provide the more than just clothing to the community. For weeks upon opening this store was hosting opportunities for customers to receive gym memberships, yoga lessons, and goods from surrounding stores.

The Connor Construction team was able to mitigate any impact to surrounding businesses while managing challenges that come along with moving into existing spaces – assuring that all parties concerns were heard and addressed.
